Fraudulent Louis Vuitton Glasses
The Louis glasses Ross wore on his 2009 XXL cover turned out to be knockoffs. This was the second crack in the Maybach Music leader’s facade. A year earlier he was exposed as a corrections officer (he lied about it until the Smoking Gun produced paychecks with his birth name and social security number). Louis Vuitton obviously wasn’t happy either. They sent a letter to XXL stating three main points:
The first is that the sunglasses Mr. Ross is wearing were not made by Louis Vuitton, and in fact, are counterfeit. Louis Vuitton did not grant permission to Mr. Ross or to whoever did make the sunglasses to use our trademarks. The second is that no affiliation, sponsorship or association exists between Rick Ross or XXL and Louis Vuitton. The third is that counterfeiting is illegal.
