KFC Is Selling Necklaces Made Out Of Chicken Bones
KFC— the company that brought the world a sandwich made of only meat — has now added jewelry design to their list of weirdness. The fast food restaurant joined forces with a jewelry designer to start hawking necklaces made from chicken bones.
This is a terrible idea but for the true chicken lover, it might just be perfect. The bone comes from chicken wings dipped in 14-karat gold. KFC is only selling 20 necklaces beginning tomorrow at 10 a.m. EST.
The Los Angeles Times Reports:
The Kentucky for Kentucky company will sell gold Kentucky Fried Chicken bone necklaces made from real KFC chicken wing bones.
The company teamed up with Meghan Carroll of Meg C Jewelry, who created the necklaces after a night full of KFC chicken wings.
Carroll and her boyfriend ate 25 wings from a KFC in Kentucky, then cleaned the bones with soap and water. She let them dry, then painted the bones with a varnish, graphite conductive paint and coated them in copper. The bones were then plated in 14-karat gold.
“Like Willy Wonka’s Everlasting Gobstopper we’ve figured out a way to make it possible to savor a single piece of Kentucky Fried Chicken forever,” writes Kentucky for Kentucky on its website. “For-ever and ever. We all win.”
Anyone wiling to wear a chicken bone as a necklace is probably losing as opposed to winning. Nonetheless, for anyone down with fowl jewelry, the regular size necklace retails for $130 and a larger size for $160.
