Kwame Kilpatrick Kwame Kilpatrick has a long list of legal scams in his past. In 2002, the then 31-year-old was sworn in as Detroit’s youngster mayor. He resigned in 2008 in wake of a 12-count indictment on charges including misconduct and perjury. More corruption charges came about in 2010. Kilpatrick was convicted on 24 felony counts and sentenced to 28 years in prison last October.

    You forgot Edward McIntyre Sr., the first Black Mayor of Augusta, Ga. from 1981-1984. Mr. McIntyre resigned after his Federal conviction in April 28,1984. He served 5 years in prison.
