Waka Flocka Flame Releasing EDM Album Titled Turn Up God
Waka Flocka Flame’s unlikely but fruitful friendship with Steve Aoki has influenced the Brick Squad general to follow the path of the flashing lights and sweaty mosh pits.
To capitalize off his new fanbase, Waka Flocka in venturing into unknown territory for himself by releasing an EDM album titled, Turn Up God. He tells XXL that his time in Europe and association with Aoki and Diplo influenced the idea.
[Steve Aoki and Diplo] are so free-spirited, they don’t got to give a f**k about an opinion,” Flocka exclaims. “And that right there, I learned a lot by [them] just being real people like that. They really don’t give a f**k about your opinion,” he says, in regards to any negative backlash he may receive from the switching up his style.
Flocka is promising a fall release for Turn Up God, and features from the likes of both aforementioned DJ’s, Borgore and DJ Carnage. A new record titled “Broke” co-staring The Zombie Kids was released last week and is also expected to appear on the record.
“It’s just me having fun. I really get to do me,” Flocka says. That sh*t’s crazy.”
For those fans who can’t fully embody the madness Waka is bringing with his trap electronic dance music, the sequel to his debut album Flockaveli is due out in the winter. Supposedly.
