Some kids never learn, huh? A 12-year-old Florida boy was arrested for stealing a school bus for the second time in a less than a month.

Michael Propst was busted driving a Bay District school bus Wednesday (July 16). “[He] Climbed on board, saw that the keys were left in the ignition, by mistake and he cranked the bus up and drove it all around bay county,” said Bay District School Security Chief Mike Jones.

Less than 24 hours after appearing in court for stealing a school bus last month, the tween stole a car from his aunt and drove it to Parker Elementary. There, he lifted a Bay District bus, driving  more than 55 miles before cops caught up with him.

“He’s not unruly or resists arrest or anything of that nature from what I understand. He’s just into stealing vehicles, ” said Parker Police Department Chief of Police Charles Sweatt.

In late June Propst went on his first stolen-bus  joyride that ended at a Walmart 15 miles from Bay District. His mother asked that authorities have a talk with her son because “she was not having any impact on him.”

He had no explanation for stealing the second bus. “He didn’t have an answer for why he did it,” Jones said. “He just went for a ride. We watched him on there and he was pretty cool in character, he just cranked it up and drove it; like he had done it all his life.”

Propst has been charged with felony criminal mischief of over $1,000 and grand theft of over $100,000.
