Amari Spievey

Detroit Lion’s player Amari Spievey was arrested and charged on third-degree assault, risk of injury to a child, and disorderly conduct last year. Lion’s got into a shoving match with 26-year-old girlfriend, Lisa Marie, who claims he put his hands around during a argument over child support. She was also charged with disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a child.

The charges were later dropped, Spievey enrolled in a court-ordered program  educating him on family violence.

Wow! !!”she staying with him for the money of course

    • Angry Man

Or maybe love, or maybe she except the role she played in all of it

      • Ayisha

Yeah ok!! Love??? A man who knocks a woman out and drags her does not love you. No one deserves that. Both men and woman need to keep their hands to themselves.

      • Angry Man

So ask yourself why did he drag her out? To get help you think? If she loved him would she have attacked him first?

      • StraightShooter

        What???

      • Angry Man

        Que?

      • Ayisha

        Something is wrong with you.

      • jihad livingston

Ain’t nothing wrong with him How come when a woman gets mad it’s okay for her to attack a man Why can’t she punch a wall, scratch her own car? You’re saying a man got to restrain his anger no matter the circumstance but a woman is free to do anything when she’s mad?

      • Ayisha

I’m not sure if you’re slow or lack overall reading comprehension but I just said that both men and woman need to keep their hands to themselves.

      • jihad livingston

Slow nah, lack ready comprehension nah not that either I just missed one of your comments You shouldn’t be so quick to insults You told Angry Man something is wrong with you I don’t see nothing wrong with what he’s expressing

      • Ayisha

Then respond under his comment…you don’t hit someone you love ( her) or knock them out cold(him) Period

      • jihad livingston

What’s your position on Solange assaulting JZ

      • StraightShooter

Stop using the exception to the rule as the base of your argument.

      • jihad livingston

Exception to the rule eh? There’s plenty of documented cases of women killing men who never abused them. The rule is or should be, man or woman you don’t put your hands on no one. If hitting your partner is the only way to get through to them then find other people. We all know life ain’t like that, right.Common sense tells me that if this person is prone to knocking my asz out either I try my damn hard not to arouse their anger(which is impossible) or I leave.

      • C J Jordan

They should watch that show “snapped” on the oxygen network

      • jihad livingston

        Exactly

      • StraightShooter

A lot of times the women claim to have been abused, but didn’t report. This is very similar to sexual violence perpetrated against women by men. Many times women don’t report it for various reasons.

      • StraightShooter

How do you know abusr never occured? Where are yout statistics and facts for these unfounded claims? You are right no one should be putting his/her hands on any person in an unwanted manner. However more than likely it will be a man abusing women and children not the other way around. Last part of your argument is a slippery slope argument. Therefore it won’t work. No person can control what another chooses to do.

      • Angry Man

My bad I forgot because she is a female she can do No wrong

      • Nikkinickinicci

What do you mean what did she do to deserve that?? Nothing no woman deserves that.

      • Angry Man

So in your mind because she is a female she can punch, kick, hit with a frying pan, spit in his face and because he is a male he is supposed to be a robot and just leave. That’s the problem no one is being realistic. It’s human nature to defend yourself.

      • Nikkinickinicci

Wow are you a woman beater too??

      • Angry Man

So in other words you believe a woman can do anything

      • jihad livingston

No man deserves to be hit either Look at some of these shows (Snapped) or some people (Jody Arias) a lot of women kill men who weren’t abusive to them The human body man or woman have innate weakness there’s no difference as far as pain goes, whether punched in the eye by Maywether or hit with a hammer in the eye by Lil Kim your eye is gonna hurt All dudes don’t have self restraint you hit one you taking a chance of getting hit back or beaten up

      • StansB4Real

When did she attack him first?? Whern was that established?? Where is the video that you saw of her kicking & punching him?? You haven’t seen shìt!! You are just, like the typical black male, trying to justify a man knocking a woman out… I will never get how the black male will run from a confrontation with another man – unless he has a weapon or a crew – but will beat a woman down like his equal… Its the exact cowardice that is the reason women dont respect black males today…

      • jihad livingston

It seems women don’t respect themselves, she married him after that

      • C J Jordan

It was mentioned and plus she wasn’t arrested for nothing. They both were charged.

      • Nikkinickinicci

Shutup men are physically stronger than women in most cases, so just shutup. it is never a justifiable reason unless your life is being truly threatened.

      • C J Jordan

A woman can’t justify hitting a man neither. If u put yourself in that predicament. The outcome is unpredictable. That’s the way it is.

      • jihad livingston

I agree women don’t deserve that. Don’t put yourself in a situation to whereas you’d be subjected to that kind of treatment.

    • C J Jordan

She would have been paid no matter what. They have a child so I doubt money had anything to do with it.

      • Ayisha

        Ok

  • Jillibooboo

Wow. What a sound, responsible, reasonably conveyed article. That is a main problem of domestic violence: victim blaming.

Hip hop wired should have more articles like this

    • jihad livingston

OK I get it ,if the woman get the upper hand it’s cool, if she gets hurt she’s the victim.

  • monimillie33

    Where are the photos???

  • eli wol

In a drunken rage she spit in his face and punched him. He slapped her, but due to her intoxication, she passed out. Now the media wants to make ray rice the face of domestic abuse. What about addressing the real issue of women getting passes for aggressive behavior. When Solange whipped on Jay z, there was no out cry, no charges, no apologies, no suspensions from her BS career. In rice’s situation they both were wrong, however ray rice must carry the cross.

    • Cheryl Smith

Part of being a dude I guess.

      • jihad livingston

Part of living in a double standard society

    • BIKERCHICK4EVER

His then fiancee gave him a pass by marrying him. They are a match made in heaven.

    • StansB4Real

When did she attack him first?? When was that established?? Where is the video that you saw of her spitting on him & punching him?? You haven’t seen shìt!! You are just, like the typical black male, trying to justify a man knocking a woman out… I will never get how the black male will run from a confrontation with another man – unless he has a weapon or a crew – but will beat a woman down like his equal… Its the exact cowardice that is the reason women dont respect black males today..

      • eli wol

She admitted to hitting and spitting on him, in fact she was charged but rice had the charges dropped. I don’t know much about being a black male, I am not an american; but a black man is human like anyone else, and as humans we all have our limitations. The point is even though she instigated and initiated the confrontation, they were both wrong. Therefore, the conversation should be less about ray rice and more about unhealthy, and dysfunctional relationships.

      • StansB4Real

I dont need to see a video of Rice hitting her.. I really dont think he can deny it and he didnt… Its as clear as day that he hit her.. You have no proof that she instigated anything.. You black males are clinging to the being hit first thing to justify beating on women.. The black male is the only race of male known for fighting women and running from men unless he has a weapon.. The black male doesnt need to be hit first to attack a woman.. Its in his cowardly fibers to beat on women…

      • eli wol

Hey I am not a black male, however the disdain you have for black men affects your intellect. One can argue that no other culture exist where the woman vilifies the men of their race. I hate speaking about slavery, but the american white male has shaped your brain to hate your own. You have the mindset of a cotton picker who is allowed to become a mistress of their master. You feel that it’s a privilege to be degraded, as long as it’s by a non black. Your thoughts are corrupted, and your heart shares the resentment of your oppressors.

      • StansB4Real

My intellect is affected and corrupted yet you cannot show me a video or point me towards a link or anything that proves your claim that she spit on and hit this man first…. Funny how I’m the issue yet you cant back up any of the crap you’re spewing here about this woman… And I’m waiting for you to shows me a culture that exists on bashing, vilifying, degrading and disrespecting the women & children of the race which black males do without batting an eye. Noone will welcome the degradation of himself and his own by others like the black male will.. The black male will even join in by destroying his own and placing other races above his own while completely ripping his own apart.. .. Finally you’re clearly a black male.. I can tell that by how all up in your feelings you are..

      • eli wol

Ok let’s agree to disagree.. I think you must have been abused before, so I understand you are in pain. I am from Australia, however I was raised in Italy, and lived in the UK. I’ve seen black people in general have a rough life. Not just black men but black women too, who were good educated people. I think that as humans we should not identify, or judge others by their race. The leader of the free world is a black man, do you think he mistreats his wife too? I feel sorry for you because you need therapy. You can choose to believe that I am a black male, that is not an insult to me, but get the help you need.

      • StansB4Real

Whatever… Boy, bye with this bullchit!!

      • white people are the edomites

Yea just like all these white cops that been beating the living daylights out of black women…no mercy

      • jihad livingston

You’re the typical bw who feels it’s okay to hit and not be hit back She’s the one who doesn’t get any respect she married him afterwards The human body feels pain whether the assailant is male or female What’s your position regarding Solange assaulting JZ

      • StansB4Real

When did I say its okay to hit and not be hit back??? I pointed out that noone knows that went on between Ray Rice & his wife in a closed elevator – and noone has shown anything to disprove what I said… A woman beater gets no respect from me & thats that…

  • Cheryl Smith

I didn’t know that he had knocked her out. Shouldn’t he be charged with domestic abuse? Any woman who would be with a man who both incapacitated and dragged her, is nuts. That dude has a real problem.

    • http://www.dahoneyhive.com Honey-The Writer

When it comes to stuff like that it’s up to the victim to file charges. She didn’t want to file charges so the criminal matter is closed.

      • Cheryl Smith

I really thought that the rules had changed to where the female no longer had to file. ..that if abuse was evident, police would file charges anyway.

      • http://www.dahoneyhive.com Honey-The Writer

It may vary from state to state but in my state of residency. If a DV call is made it is up to the person to file charges. However, the suspected abuser can be placed in jail for 72 hours without charges be filed.

  • BIKERCHICK4EVER

When the dust-up was over, she married him. Case closed.

  • C J Jordan

No man should ever hit a woman. Every man is different. It’s unpredictable. Bottom line if u hit a man. Some might handle it like jay-z and some men might knock your a$$ out. It’s not right but it happens. Everyone conveniently ignores that part. Me personally I would have walked away because I don’t want them problems in my life especially for him being a professional athlete everything gets magnified times 10. The only thing I can say is if u don’t wanna get treated like a man don’t act like one because everybody not gonna be as cool as jay-z. That’s the way it is. I know a lot of y’all gonna reply to me with the same bulls–t and it’s ok u don’t have to agree with me. Just make sure u read everything I’m trying to say and understand that in no way am I justifying domestic violence. For every action there is a reaction and both parties are totally at fault and u shouldn’t play the victim when u greatly contributed.

    • Guest

You’re a smart man. Although I feel like he could have and should have restrained her instead of knocking her out but everybody isn’t built like that. But dude has entirely too much to lose to allow himself to get caught up in some BS like this.

      • C J Jordan

I agree 100%. When u live in the public eye u have a lot more to lose than the average joe. Like money, endorsements and etc. so it’s not worth it because in one split second u can lose it all just like that. U have to think.

    • Angry Man

And the Jay situation involved a Body gaurd theres one point where he grabbed her foot who knows what he would have done if Bey an the body gaurd wasn’t there. When I saw that I knew he had enough of her hitting him. Crazy how everyone saw the entire situation and thought that was funny.

      • jihad livingston

She probably wouldn’t have done that if they were alone

      • suzette

He grabbed her foot because she was hitting in his private area and that could have resulted in medical issues for him down there if he didnt do that.

  • YAYO

If that video wasn’t recorded, he wouldn’t said anything or apologized. Unless his wife called 911. Highly unlikely.

    • jihad livingston

Solange was recorded and she didn’t apologize

      • YAYO

True. Not in public she may not have. Carters/Knowles have a different status than a pro like Ray Rice. Dont forget his wife was unconscious. They had to save his career with that public apology.

      • jihad livingston

The situation got to the public why shouldn’t she apologize publicly. The Carters are on a different status? Are you implying their lives are better than other people Solange is a D-list celebrity living off her sister’s fame, she got no status.

      • YAYO

Solange should apologize. What im saying they have a way of keeping their ish quiet thats point I was making but they’re not better than the next person. Everyone makes mistakes period. Your opinion of Solange is just that. At least The Rice family acknowledged it. Try to understand what im saying before jumping head first.

      • jihad livingston

I understand exactly what you’re saying The Carters are above publicly acknowledging their bullcet, why do peasants deserve an explanation ? Phuk yall buy our music/ concert tickets and don’t ask questions.I get it.

      • YAYO

        Lol exactly. TY :-)

      • suzette

She probably did but to him in private. Why would she do it publicly? they already left a statement.

  • jihad livingston

You have to leave women who hit, kick, scratch, bite, shove, spit etc.One day she’s gonna do it and you’re not gonna be able to restraint yourself, everyone is prone to acting out of anger. The first time you lose control you’re the bad guy Ladies if you get hit once LEAVE don’t ever go back whether you 2 got a child/ children together never go back There should be a rule that abusive men can only be with abusive women

    • Guest

I do agree with this comment. I, unfortunately, did not leave after the first time and have endured (intermittent) beatings for the past 19 years. I never put my hands on him first or once he got in motion (too freaked out to react). Psychological/emotional abuse ended up being much more damaging. Marriage is now ending but I did stay for the kids and because it didn’t happen all the time and I always hoped each time would be the last. I notice there is a lot of judgement when women do come forward and that is why I kept it to myself.

      • C J Jordan

I sympathize with your situation but there is never a good reason to stay in an abusive marriage. Even for the kids. Especially if u didn’t hit him first.19 years wow. Congrats for finally getting out of it.

  • tellthetruth

Go Ravens!! That’s their personal shyt. Can you run for a touchdown Ray? That is all I’m concerned with.

    • C J Jordan

      Yessss

  • brian

some chicks need discipline, im sorry but if u hit a man first u need ur butt kicked

  • J rock

I dnt disagree that Ray has some deep internal issues. Evidence of his issues shows from who he picked as a wife. His wife has internal issues. She attacked her husband physically, and um betting before that incident he never laid a hand on her, but that ain’t the first time she went ham on him. That was some built up ish Ray did, and that’s y he didn’t feel remorse, cause it felt kinda good to release. And the fact she still married him show she felt she deserved it.

No thanks
