Uzo “Crazy Eyes” Aduba Wins Creative Arts Emmys For Outstanding Guest Actress [Photos]
Who would have thought that a television series dedicated solely to Netflix would become a widespread phenomenon?
Uzo Aduba, best known for her Dandelion-chasing, mentally unstable character Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren, was front and center at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE for the 2014 Creative Primetime Emmy Awards where she was honored with the outstanding guest actress award.
The event, also known as the technical Emmys, are said to be largely dedicated to the behind-the-scenes aspects and otherwise less glamorous aspects of the shows. With a cast as extensive as Orange is the New Black’s, it is vital that the actresses make the most of their screen time and Aduba undoubtedly accomplished such a feat with ease.
She reportedly thanked her mother for fleeing Nigeria to better their family’s life and the producers of a show “that lets everyone be represented in such a beautiful way.” Her transgendered co-star Laverne Cox is nominated for an award in next week’s main show.
