On September 2 of this year, a new digital platform called The RapFest will impact culture and give some up and coming artists a major shot in the process.

It’s a membership-based digital platform created to bridge the gap between new artists, producers and established artists by incorporating ciphers, networking tools, and marketing campaigns. The RapFest will launch on September 2 in conjunction with MTV, which will air episode one of the series.

Smoke DZA, Prodigy of the legendary Mobb Deep, and the RapFest’s UpNext artist, Delorean of Dallas, Tex. will appear on the inaugural showing. Each wordsmith will be given the same beat to rhyme over, leaving it up to viewers to decide who’s best. Each episode will also feature an instrumental by a budding producer, who will have a chance to discuss their work.

The RapFest will premiere on MTV Jams. See a super trailer and teaser for episode one below.
