Ah, politics. It is only during election years when Americans show fevered interest in current events and the rousing speeches of the candidates. Anytime outside of that window is simply “blah blah” and strictly visual.

At least, that was President Obama’s reality during his address to the nation about the crisis in Syria and the looming threat of ISIS. It was a typical 30-minute diatribe of long-winded rhetoric that gives the people a taste while keeping the “enemy” guessing.

“If those things are followed through on and we are able to combine it with a sound military strategy, then I think we can be successful. If we can’t, then the idea that the United States or any outside power would perpetually defeat ISIS I think is unrealistic. As I’ve said before — I think I said it in the previous press conference — our military is the best in the world. We — we can rout ISIS on the ground and keep a lid on things temporarily. But then as soon as we leave, the same problems come back again,” the president said during a latter part of his national address.

The only problem was the American public couldn’t hear him over the loud tan suit he wore. A keen observation about the modern president: facial hair is typically nonexistent and their suits are almost always black or navy blue. President Obama stepped outside of one of these unwritten cardinal rules on a warm August afternoon–and was dragged online for it.

Take a look at some of the more humorous comedic anecdotes about the President Obama tan suit. Chances are it’s currently burning in the White House backyard.
