For longtime fans, it’s odd to think that a generation will know Pharrell as the “Happy” guy with the hat. Long before then, the Grammy winning producer’s performances were far from mellow, as they often include fellow Neptune Chad Hugo, and Shay Haley, better known as N.E.R.D.

Haley joined Skateboard P at the iTunes Festival at London’s Roundhouse last night (September 10), where he performed N.E.R.D tracks like “Rockstar,” “Lapdance,” and “She Wants To Move.” But that wasn’t all. Haley did more that play Pharrell’s wingman, he came bearing a message.

“It feels good to be back in London,” he said. “When we released our first album back in 2001 and first crossed the Atlantic, this was the first place to embrace us. You’re gonna like this sh*t we’re gonna release…”

Pharrell added his two cents, saying “There will always be an NERD … I’m happy to be a nerd; the bullies lost, the nerds win.” Happy, yet?

Don’t be ashamed if you’re a stand and you’re having a problem containing yourself. This is epic news that will hopefully materialize into something fans will enjoy sooner than later.
