Now that DJ Premier and Royce Da 5’9″‘s collaborative album effort has been unveiled, expect a chin-check all across the Hip-Hop atmosphere. Both veteran artists mentally feel like they are capable of making the best music of their life and PRhyme is the moniker to which they’re rocking under.

“The bar has to be high. For this album to be another body of work and another chapter for both of our lives,” the legendary producer said via a press release. I’ve never sampled just one artist, I’m known for my reputation and my creativity. I wanted it to be my traditional thing where I sample everything I find, but I am really proud how the project came out and Royce is one hell of a pusher.”

And said project definitely packs a punch in the guest appearance department. Common, Jay Electronica, Killer Mike, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Mac Miller, Dwele and the entire Slaughterhouse are all slate to trade barbs with the newly formed duo. On paper, it sounds like a Hip-Hop purist’s wildest dream.

Nickel Nine abandoned his normal demeanor and displayed enthusiasm with his statement saying ““It was really inspiring me to want to make music. As Premier started sending me music and I started writing, it was falling into place. It was making me excited about going into the studio.”

To hammer home the point this album is an event, an exclusive PRhyme Champion hoodie was created. Additionally, watch the “U Looz” video trailer here.
