Tracy Morgan is already enduring a terrible recovery stemming from the June car accident that claimed the life of his good friend, Jimmy Mack. And his balloon was undoubtedly popped when Walmart revealed yesterday that they are holding him and the other passengers riding in the tour bus mainly responsible for their injuries.

Through the fury of his publicist, the 30 Rock comedian is striking back at the powerful retailer in a released statement.

Tracy Morgan is responding to allegations made by Wal-Mart in his lawsuit over a highway crash earlier this year that killed one of his friends.

Wal-Mart claimed in a court filing Monday that the actor-comedian and his traveling companions were partly to blame for their injuries in the June crash because they weren’t wearing seatbelts.

A Wal-Mart truck slammed into the back of the van Morgan and others were riding in on the New Jersey Turnpike, killing one passenger and injuring several others. Morgan suffered leg and rib injuries.

In a statement released Tuesday by Morgan’s publicist, he says he “can’t believe Walmart is blaming me for an accident that they caused.”

Morgan goes on to say that he and his friends were doing nothing wrong.

As previously reported, Morgan is still in a wheelchair and not expected to start walking anytime soon.
