RZA, the producer and de facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan, continues to innovate with more than two decades in the game. The Abbot talked about his crew’s upcoming album, A Better Tomorrow, a collaboration with a new portable speaker company and much more.

RZA chopped it up with the good folks at Billboard magazine about all of his new plans a day after he and the Clan rocked a set in San Francisco. RZA spoke about the longevity of his band and shared details about the recording process of A Better Tomorrow.

“It’s called A Better Tomorrow. The full-length album should be available by Black Friday. It’s a record to me that merges the way music was made in the classic essence, in an analog way. As well as merging what’s going down the digital way. All the entire 10 Clan members are on it,” said RZA.

RZA also has ambitious plans for the release of the album, working with the Boombotix and the wireless, Bluetooth-enabled Boombot Rex device. The Boombot Rex will have an exclusive, limited-run Wu-Tang Clan edition and feature eight tracks from A Better Tomorrow, two exclusive non-album instrumentals, and an exclusive track all ahead of the album’s official release.

Although plagued with issues over its release date, RZA said the album will be done by Black Friday (Nov. 28).
