Street performing is a prevalent means of making ends meet in in New York City. Seldom does a platinum-selling singer take that route, though, but that changes with this footage of Erykah Badu hilariously singing “Give me some money” in midtown Manhattan.
“I just kinda always wanted to see what it would be like to sing for money on the streets,” said Badu, noting that this was a social experiment at first. The songstress was spotted by a fan while prompting the video, but after a quick wardrobe change (she took off her familiar bowler hat), she blended in seamlessly recognized.
“Haven’t sold a record in a long time, a b*tch needs some money,” Badu sang. If that isn’t damn funny to you, we are not the same.
