“Next To It” was early indication of the songs birthed in the Lupe Fiasco and Ty Dolla $ign studio sessions. Following that track, the Chicago rapper captains their latest collaboration, “Deliver,” from his upcoming Tetsuo & Youth album.
“Pizza man don’t come here no mo’,” Fiasco chants on a chorus inspired by one of the more thoughtful moments form the 1992 animated film Bébé’s Kids. Using that phrase as a basis, the MC explores the plight of life in the inner city, where many of the native folks are products of poverty and a lack of education.
Atlantic Records label mate Ty Dolla contributes vocals on the chorus.
Look for Tetsuo & Youth to drop January 20. Stream Fiasco’s “Deliver” below.
