The status of Tha Carter V’s whereabouts is anybody’s guess at this point, but Lil Wayne has a good enough reason to put out music today.

“Off Day,” the bubbly new single from Weezy is the official launching pad for Cash Money’s new artist, Flow. According to YoungMoneyHQ, the East New Orleans built a strong enough buzz in his backyard to with his group The Flamez aka Flame Gang Muzik and is already three mixtapes deep in the game. As for the song, Wayne lightly borrows from iLoveMakonnen’s “Tuesday” smash on the hook and uses his traditional sexually charged fodder to dominate his verses. As for Flow, he displays why he picked his commonplace moniker with an untamed eight-bar screamfest.

The track doesn’t call for much lyrical enlightenment as it does turn up on producer X Fyle’s track work. It still gives a hungry upstart an opportunity to do spot dates with a recognizable record, however.

Listen to the song below and let us know yay or nay in the comment section.
