A day after unleashing the audible bum-rush that is “Lunch Money,” Pusha T connects with MTV News to tell the records backstory.

Crediting Kanye West as the mastermind behind the song’s concept, Pusha Ton said “[Kanye] knows that when he does these unorthodox tracks, I’m probably going to be the first one up to bat when it comes to tackling it.”

The interviewer likens the cut to Public Enemy’s classic “Rebel Without A Pause,” a comparison the G.O.O.D. Music rapper wholeheartedly embraces. “That’s the type of energy I’m looking for in creating this new King Push album,” Pusha explained, citing rebellion and anger as feelings he’s trying to convey.

“Lunch Money” is a damn good start. As we await news on King Push, peep Pusha T’s interview with MTV below.
