Lest thou forget, Lee Daniels has golden bullet in the chamber with his Hip-Hop inspired drama in FOX’s Empire. And it will be airing before the current NFL season shuts down shop.

The upcoming series reunites Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson (among others) for the battle to control a succesful record label’s fortune–and future, as it has been revealed that Howard’s character doesn’t have much time left to roam the art. To give it a more cinematic experience, Timbaland was also nabbed to score the scenery.

Luckily for those intrigued by the trailer, it will debut at the top of 2015. FOX has released the fine print.

The epic family battle begins when the powerful new drama EMPIRE debuts, with limited commercial interruption, on Wednesday, Jan. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), following AMERICAN IDOL XIV (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). From Academy Award nominee Lee Daniels (“Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” “Precious”), Emmy Award winner Danny Strong (“Game Change,” “Lee Daniels’ The Butler”) and Academy Award- and Emmy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer (“A Beautiful Mind,” “24”), comes a drama about a family dynasty, set within a world of music, glamour, danger and power. Featuring music by prolific producer Timbaland, the series stars Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard (“Crash,” “Hustle & Flow”) and Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson (“No Good Deed,” “Person of Interest”).
