Idris Elba aka Stringer Bell aka Luther takes his racing very seriously. So much so that the actor’s is producing The Idris Elba Project, which will featuring him extreme racing around the world, for the Discovery Channel.

The six part series will see Elba push his body, mind and engineering know-how to the limit by racing on land, water and in the air in the show, which will air on Discovery in mid-2015 in more than 220 countries and territories, including the United States.
Elba will take part in ally driving, street racing, aerobatics and power boating for the series.
“I’m taking on the toughest racing challenges of my life for this new Discovery TV series,” said Elba in a statement. “Along the way I’ll meet extraordinary individuals, spectacular machines and hear amazing stories of how far people go to satisfy their love of speed. The extreme challenges will take me right out of my comfort zone as I compete against the best on land, water and in the air.”
The Idris Elba Project is produced by Elba’s Green Door Pictures and Shine North. The two companies have a deal with Discovery to produce shows for the network.
