Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel has reportedly been shot in Pleasantville, New Jersey.
According to NBC Philadelphia, the Broad Street Bully was shot around 9:45 this morning (Dec. 5) outside a Jersey Shore home on the the 800 block of Spruce Avenue.
Sigel reportedly was hit somewhere in the torso and taken to a local hospital (AtlanticCare Regional Medical Center) where he is currently in surgery. The Press of Atlantic City says another man on the scene was injured but refused treatment.
NBC Philadelphia also reports that according to Sigel’s attorney, Fortunato Perri, Jr. the rapper was shot in the back not the intended victim. According to Perri, Beans was returning from dropping off his kids at school when he came upon an altercation.
However, a Philly Inquirer reporter says Sigel was shot in the torso and bullet exited his back.
Sigel was freed from prison in August after serving time for drug and tax evasion charges. Reportedly Beans’ injuries are not life-threatening—but this story is still developing.
