Bobby Shmurda, né Ackquille Pollard, was arrested outside the infamous Quad Recording Studios near Times Square, Wednesday (Dec. 17).

NYPD’s Brooklyn South Violence Reduction Task Force, alongside the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor’s Narcotics Gang Unit had been investigating East Flatbush crew and Shmurda’s camp GS9 for nearly two years the night 15 members were arrested.

TheGrio reports:

Pollard now faces 8 to 25 years in prison if found guilty of five charges on eight counts, including conspiracy to commit second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit second-degree assault. His attorney, Howard Greenberg, originally said that Pollard’s record label, Epic, would pay his two million dollar bail. Over a week later that has yet to happen, meaning the “Hot Boy” rapper spent his holiday at Rikers Island.

“My guy’s rich, he’s busy. He’s always on tour.” says Greenberg, who maintains his client is the victim. “He’s supposedly leader of this crew, but he’s not charged with any violence. Use your head, it doesn’t make any sense. I’m not going to let them crucify Bobby Shmurda.”

Does Greenberg make a point? Is Epic responsible for bailing out their recording artist? Sound off in the comments.
