HBO‘s Game Of Thrones is one of the cable network’s most popular shows, which wisely capitalized on that fame by releasing a well-received mixtape last year. A sequel to the Catch The Throne mixtape series has been announced today, featuring big names from Hip-Hop and Heavy Metal.

The first installment of Catch The Throne had quite a successful run, with Big Boi, Wale, and Common all dropping verses on the project onward to over 2 million streams accordng to HBO.

This time around, veteran rap gods Snoop Dogg and Method Man are the big names on this latest incarnation. Starring alongside the bi-coastal stars are award-winning metal bands Anthrax and Killswitch Engage. The mixtape, likes its predecessor, comes ahead of the season debut of Game Of Thrones in April.

More from HBO:

As huge fans of the series, artists were eager to participate. “Off the top, I love Game of Thrones – I even gave my expert analysis of this season on my GGN show. It’s like the rap game, it’s gangster, about family, loyalty and trying to get to the top,” stated Snoop Dogg. “I had to get involved. Give the fans a little b it of how I see it.”

Scott Ian, founding member of Anthrax, stated “As fans of Game of Thrones, we are extremely excited to collaborate on this project. Recording a song about the Lannister family allows us to connect more with our fans and Game of Thrones fans in a way we would have never imagined.”

A neat point of interest for the mixtape is that it will sample music from the Season 4 soundtrack from Game Of Thrones, and many of themes present on the project will be centered around the extremes of fire and ice.

Catch the Throne: The Mixtape Vol. 2 will see a March release and will be a free download. HBO asks that folks who download the tap share the news by using the hashtag, #CatchTheThrone.

Game Of Thrones makes is Season 5 debut on April 12.
