Michelle Rodriguez got her facts all wrong and put her foot in her mouth. The latter, she actually copped to.
TMZ caught Rodriguez on camera saying that Hollywood “minorities” shouldn’t be “stealing all the white peoples superheroes.” This is after she was asked about the rumor that she is going to be cast as Green Lantern.
The irony is that not only is one of the OG Green Lanterns a Black guy (John Stewart), but there is also a Latina “Green Lantern” by the name of Jessica Cruz aka Power Ring.
Needless to say, Rodriguez quickly posted a video on her Facebook apologizing to whoever she offended and elaborating on what she meant.
“What I really meant was that ultimately at the end of the day, there’s a language,” she said. “And the language that you speak in Hollywood is successful franchise. And I think there are many cultures in Hollywood that are not white that can come up with their own mythology.”
Yeah, okay. Are you buying what Rodriguez is selling?
