Atlanta has had a firm grasp on the hip-hop world for more than a decade. SouthernPlaylistic funk, crunk, trap, and snap, have all had a major influence on the sounds emitting from booming systems from coast-to-coast.

These days, the Atlanta sound has evolved into something that has yet to be defined; an amalgamation of the styles that preceded. Much of that new bass heavy, melodic, street-infused aesthetic can be heard in the newest project called No Taxes 2 from a pair of young MCs who go by the name C.O.O.L. A.M.E.R.I.K.A. (“Collective-Of-Outspoken-Lyricists-Armed-Maticulous-Entertaining-Kempt-Artists”). Although Balla Baby and Stunt are not originally from the A (Montgomery, Alabama and Savannah, Georgia respectively), they have been long-time friends since 7th grade when their parents relocated them to the east side of the city, Decatur, where it’s greater.

The friend-cees have been grinding steadfastly through the ATL underground with the fledgling Alliance Music Group (AMG) accompanied by their producer Buddha Bless for several years now, and with the release of No Taxes 2, are primed to make their mark down south and nationwide. Hosted by Bigga Rankin, No Taxes 2 features lady lovin’ anthems like “MVP” featuring Offset of The Migos, “1 Of 1” featuring Atlanta’s trap hero Young Dolph, and the riotous, pill-poppin, club banger “2 At A Time” produced by Zaytoven.

One of the most outstanding tracks on the tape comes with a Kevin Gates feature, “Day 1’s”:
