Whether or not former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez does hard time in jail could come down to the size of an Air Jordan footprint near the scene of the crime. So much so that Nike Inc. consultant Herbert Hedges was called to identify a sneaker worn by the NFL baller.
Hedges, whose been at Nike for 30 years, watched surveillance footage of Hernandez at a gas station before and at his home after the crime was committed to determine if he was sporting the Nike Air Jordan XI Retro Low, which indeed he was.
Hernandez’s lawyer James Sultan contended that three million shoes with that sole were produced. But here’s a plot twist. The defendant wears a size 13, which were produced in smaller volumes and have a slightly different sole, according to Hedges.
The trial continues.
