Feel-good anthems like Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” serve as healing records and reaffirmations that Black lives matter, despite what the deaths of Freddie Gray, Mike Brown, Eric Garner, and too many others to name say. Years ago, Lupe Fiasco delivered a similar message in “It Just Might Be Okay,” a song from his debut album Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor that now officially has a visual.

On paper, the song’s title embodies hope, which is undoubtedly the reason Fiasco decided to bring it to life. Shot in his native Chicago, the song’s lyrics and scenes seen in the clip reflects what’s happening in Black communities throughout America.
