Some parents teach their children to stay away from drugs, others see it as a way to make a deal. A Florida couple got arrested on child abuse charges for allegedly using weed and cocaine to encourage their children to get good grades and handle their chores.
Joey and Chad Mudd were arrested at their home near Tampa Bay this week. According to the police report, the Mudds take drugs with their children.
Mama Mudd, who works in pediatric care, uses weed as a “bargaining tool.” She confessed to smoking marijuana with the girls five different times and was arrested for “knowingly or willingly” abusing a child without “causing great bodily harm, permanent disability, or disfigurement.”
She was released on $5,000 bail Wednesday (May 6), and ordered not to have contact with the girls.
The charges are a little more serious for Papa Mudd. He admitted to snorting cocaine with his 13 and 15-year-old daughters in the parking lot of a Treasure Island. (Sir!)
Authorities locked him up on six charges child abuse in addition to cocaine possession. He remains locked up.
The children are staying with relatives.
