Former Bronco’s linebacker Adrian Robinson died in Philadelphia from an apparent suicide Saturday (May 16). He was 25.

Robinson’s death was ruled a suicide by hanging, a Philadelphia coroner confirmed to the Denver Post yesterday, although the explicit details of the incident have not been publicized.

Reps for Robinson noted him as a “beloved father, son, brother, friend and teammate,” in a statement released Sunday (May 17).”We ask that you please respect his family’s privacy during this difficult time, and especially keep his daughter Avery Marie in your prayers. Thank you for all of your support and consideration.”

The onetime NFL player was a graduate of Temple University, and signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He was later traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, before landing with the Denver Broncos in 2013, the year the team went to the Super Bowl.

Robinson played half-a-dozen games with the Broncos that year, and a couple games with the San Diego charges. He signed on with the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tigers last month.

The family has started a GoFundMe to help Robinson’s young daughter.
