It’s been a long time coming for your friendly neighborhood Harry Powder, affectionately known to fans as Troy Ave. After dozens of mixtapes, street singles, notable guest appearances and globetrotting performances, he’s readying the rollout for his official debut album, Major Without A Deal.
And just like the hustler he repeatedly tells listeners he is, he managed to maintain his sanity, integrity (and bulk of the profits) by doing so independently, as Major Without A Deal will be jointly released on via B$B Records and Empire Distribution this summer.
For his first act as NYC mayoral candidate, Troy Ave is taking a squat on anyone who has ever fronted on him with the unthreatening “Doo Doo.” Despite the lighthearted vibes, it earns every inch of that parental advisory sticker that will be sprawled across the single artwork.
