A potential moment of coonery has been defeated. The OWN Network has decided to cancel a docu-series about a man, Jay Williams, who has fathered 34 children with 17 different women.

Williams’ pull out struggle was documented on episode of Iyanla: Fix My Life last year.

Reports The Grio:

In a statement from OWN, the network says that production has officially ended and they will not air the docu-series.

“OWN has decided not to move forward with the Jay Williams docu-series. The series aimed to follow Jay as he worked to put his life and fractured relationships in order and to hold him accountable every step of the way. The intention was to help Jay work to establish new connections with his family, his children and the mothers of his children. Production has ended and the series will not air.”

Sources close to the show tell theGrio.com that production for the docu-series wasn’t going in the way that the network hoped it would.

Why do we get the feeling that a boring show with poor ratings was the reason the show was scrapped versus, ya know, exploitation and making a shiftless man famous?
