As the 2014-2016 NBA season comes to an end, basketball junkies have the choice of either allowing the WNBA or video games to tide them over.

Since statistics tells us the majority will opt for the latter, both EA and 2K Sports is getting the jump on the rollout for their respective big league winners in NBA Live 16 NBA 2K16 and boy are they exquisite. Although the Oklahoma City Thunder’s injury-laden season shut them out of the playoffs and ended with their coach being canned, Russell Westbrook still received the glorious–non-cursed–honor of being the NBA Live cover star.

“Blessed to be on the cover of #NBALIVE16! The Brodie is onnnnnnnnn!!! Let’s get it @EASPORTSNBA #RiseTogether #whynot, the almost-MVP tweeted with the cover, which showcases him at his passionate best.

Not to be outdone, NBA 2K16 is boasting of not one but three cover stars in the reigning MVP Steph Curry, the runner-up James Harden and an inevitable winner in Anthony Davis. To make sure all three superstars got their just due, Spike Lee was recruited to narrate the accompanying “Be The Story” narrative commercial which alludes to a clever story mode within the gameplay. The acclaimed filmmaker most likely would have liked to see a Knickerbocker on the cover, but you know…

Which title looks better? Watch the “Be The Story” commercial below and flip through the gallery to see all the NBA 2K16 covers.
