The United States is a grieving nation in the wake of the Charleston church shooting and while many political figureheads continue to downplay the main issue as it stares us all in the face, Lupe Fiasco is letting his outspoken characteristics go mute this time around.

Using his Instagram as his soapbox, the Grammy Award-winning Hip-Hop star dissected the cowardly and dependent culture of white supremacy in a three-part open letter. Although he never mentions him by name, the Chicagoan uses the recently revealed racist images of the accused killer, Dylann Roof as his green screen for his poetic movie.

“Dear White Supremacy,

First of all you are not really that supreme. While throughout history White Supremacy it must be admitted you have achieved some very dominant positions,” he prefaced. “Not judging, just wanted to point out that having a disease that native folks aren’t immune to because they’ve never seen it doesn’t make you strategically smart or tactically superior, just kind of sick. And these dominant positions don’t really stand up to the test of time that long either. There is nothing about you biologically or physically that denotes an innate mode of supremacy.”

Later on in the manifesto, he added “White Supremacy has to validate it’s own identity based solely on its relationship to other races! I mean now that’s what I would call joined at the hip. Without us there is no white supremacy because there would be nothing to be supreme over!”

Lupe isn’t new to using his artistic expression to combat hate groups protected by constitutional laws and politic agendas. A couple of his past records such as “American Terrorist” and “Words I Never Said” come to mind for anyone needing referencing.

Read Lupe’s letter to the people in full and just know it’s time for this white supremacy bullshit to end, once and for all.
