50 Cent was very vocal in the way Bobby Shmurda’s record label have handled his incredibly long tenure on Rikers Island and he made sure that his artist, Kidd Kidd, would not endure the same fate.

After the 30-something XXL Freshman was popped right before the magazine’s annual concert on June 30, the lawyer game began to work their magic and the veteran rapper (born Curtis Stewart) was released from Riker’s Island prison today after posting $105,000. The conditions of his release include that he turn himself into the New Orleans Police Department no later than Thursday.

On July 1, Kidd Kidd was was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on charges that he brutalized his girlfriend by slamming her head into a hotel dresser and strangling her in February 2015.

“We are very happy that Judge Stephen did the right thing and allowed Kidd Kidd to turn himself in to New Orleans,” Kidd Kidd’s attorney Scott Leemon, told the media. “These allegations are insane and our investigation will continue.”

Kidd Kidd’s labelmate, Tony Yayo, was happy to see him home.
