Snoop Dogg‘s son, Cordell Broadus, has reportedly quit UCLA’s football team in his freshman season, sources say. Broadus, however, will continue his education at the university.

Reports Scout.com:

Broadus, who was a four-star receiver prospect from Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman and would have been an incoming freshman, hadn’t reported to UCLA’s fall camp in San Bernardino, which started Monday. According to sources, he hadn’t contacted UCLA since camp started.

He is admitted to UCLA, and attended UCLA’s summer session, so he’ll be able to remain enrolled and attend UCLA.

According to sources close to the situation, it was more than likely a matter of Broadus “wanting to do his own thing,” since his father had always pushed him to play football.

Broadus, who along with Diddys son Justin Combs, are two of the more high profile UCLA recruits because of their fathers.  Earlier in the year Broadus spoke about moving out of  Papa Snoop’s shadow. “I’m still trying my hardest to break out of that shadow and earn a name for myself.”
