At this point, ESPN should just hire Lil Wayne to its staff as often as he appears on the popular sports network. In his most recent showing with ESPN, the New Orleans rap star sat down with Cari Champion and her Giving Major Props podcast to discuss a wide range of topics including Drake, N.W.A. and more.

After some playful ribbing from Champion, Weezy spoke about his recent Lil Weezyana concert, which was held to benefit the past victims of Hurricane Katrina and support charities in the rapper’s beloved hometown.

“I brought out every era of New Orleans music that led up to me and my music,” shared Wayne. “It was just crazy to bring those people out and be the last man standing with the microphone from the beginning and the ending of the show.”

Champion, a West Coast native, asked Wayne his thoughts on the N.W.A. Straight Outta Compton biopic, which he said he enjoyed but did mention that the film left out key parts and that some of the characters were off base. He also shared his early experiences in discovering N.W.A. as a kid.

Wayne then spoke about Canadian superstar Drake, and shared his what he told the rising rapper when he signed him.

“Don’t change anything, don’t think cause you coming over here by me that you need to rap about the things that I rap about. Don’t do none of that,” said Wayne. “Keep It Canadian.”

Wayne did say he’d “annihilate” Drake in a rap battle, however.
