What ever happened to Hip-Hop that got Pac and B.I.G. shot?
The Game posed this infamous question on his landmark debut album, The Documentary a decade ago and now after countless hit records, platinum plaques, and yes, beefs, the Compton all-star is ready to take it full circle with the release of the long-awaited The Documentary 2.
“To my true fans: it’s been really dope to have you ridin’ with me the last 10 years from the 1st Documentary till now,” says an appreciate Game. “I appreciate your loyalty and the patience you have displayed while waiting for me to finish The Documentary 2. This album is better than my first for more than a few reasons… but you don’t have to take my word for it because you will see for yourself when it drops October 9th! After Kendrick dropped his album, then Dr. Dre dropped Compton then the movie doing 100 million after just 2 weeks…this album will add to my city’s continuous legacy! I’m proud to be from #COMPTON & I wish Eazy E was alive to see us flourish yet again…… We on!!! This album cover represents the struggle to stay alive in a city where CRIPS & BLOODS have been at war since 1972 and it’s because of you THE FANS that I will again get to give you my documented accounts of life here in Los Angeles. October 9th – history will be made again.”
Additionally, fans from the country’s three biggest cities will get a chance to soak up game for a private screening of the short film, The Making Of The Documentary 2. Last night in Chicago, former MTV and XXL writer hosted the Chicago leg while famed photographer Jonathan Mannion will host the upcoming New York screening at the Angelika Film Center on September 21. The Game has something special planned for Los Angeles a week later as well.
As you can see below, The Game spared no expense in getting the top-tier acts on his album. The Documentary 2 touches down on October 9th and is available for pre-order on iTunes. Follow him on Instagram for your chance to win $1000 each day leading up to the project’s release.
