Back in April of this year, the Garrisa University College attack in Kenya led by Al-Qaeda offshoot, Al-Shabaab left 147 students dead and several others injured. To support the families of the victims, Trinidad Jame$ and other American rap artists are set to perform next in Atlanta for the Pray For Kenya benefit concert.

The concert was announced Thursday (Oct. 1) via a press release, which shared further details of the Pray For Kenya concert. A contingent of Atlanta rappers both established and up and coming are joining Trinidad James$ in this venture.

From the press release:

Artist and philanthropist Trinidad Jame$ announced today that he will host a benefit performance to support the families of the 147 Garissa University victims. The Pray For Kenya benefit concert will take place on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Masquerade in Atlanta.

Trinidad Jame$ will headline the show, with special performances by Rich Homie Quan, Jacquees, Cyhi The Prynce, Bankroll Fresh + Friends, Man Man Savage, Sonny Digital, Travis Porter + Friends, Scotty ATL, Fortie Bowie, Zeus Trappin and Ryan Leslie. All proceeds from Pray For Kenya will benefit the 147 families in Kenya whose lives were affected by the tragic Garissa University terror attack.

 

Jame$ also took to his Instagram to discuss his involvement with the concert:

Do you remember all My daily post regarding the vicious terrorists attack on Garissa University in Kenya the top part of this year. Well I’m a man of my word and I’m doing a benefit concert next Wednesday to kick off a3c in Atlanta. ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE GOING TO THE FAMILIES IN NEED WHO LOST A LOVE ONE IN KENYA. (147 Victims) I made sure that I brought as many artist as I could together to make sure this concert is one to remember. I ask for only people who can help support my cause to please help and purchase a 27 dollar ticket. Only if you can.

The concert also happens to take place during the kickoff of the annual A3C music festival, as the entire city of Atlanta will be draped by artists and fans alike.
