Will Smith’s recent return to rapping wasn’t just some happenstance encounter in a studio where Bomba Estereo was performing. It seems that The Fresh Prince is ready to dust off his microphone for a world tour, and he’s taking his DJ Jazzy Jeff along for the ride.

The Hip-Hop legend to Hollywood A-lister recently appeared on Beats 1 radio and had a few bombshell announcements that should excite longtime followers of the West Philly born personality.

Before he was charging studios $20 million a flick, Smith, 47, accomplished a handful of firsts within the Hip-Hop culture. He and DJ Jazzy Jeff not only won the first Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance (1989’s “Parents Just Don’t Understand”) but they released rap’s first double album (1988’s He’s the DJ, I’m the Rapper) as well. Yet with all their accomplishments, the two never actually got to tour together.

“I’m pretty certain I’m going on tour,” Smith told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe. “Jeff and I actually never have done a full tour. I was always on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, I was always either making a movie, so we’ve never actually done a full tour. So I’m looking this summer to be the first time that we go out on a full world tour.”

While fans can expect a range of classics to be performed, Smith also disclosed that he has “30 records” completed even if he hasn’t fully constructed an album.

“I have so many things that I want to say and I’m struggling with saying them in a way that fit the flavor of music that I tend to like,” he admitted.

And then, there’s the movies. Another Men in Black may be out of the question but following Sony’s announcement that two more Bad Boys movies were on the way, Smith doubled down on that promise that those films should arrive “within the next 12 to 16 months.”
