Drake just dropped the video for “Hotline Bling,” and it got D.R.A.M. all in his feelings. Coincidentally, the Virginia rapper (learn more about him here) performed in Toronto on Monday (Sept. 19) evening and took to Twitter afterwards to share that he feels the 6 God jacked his record.

“Just performed in Toronto for the 1st time tonight and it was bittersweet,” tweeted D.R.A.M. “Sweet cus I’m out here sharing my music, my sound with the people. Bitter though, cus after my performance all I’m seeing is Cha Cha/Hotline Bling comparisons on my timeline.”

Here’s the thing, though. Drake samples D.R.A.M.’s “Cha Cha,” and being that Drizzy is on a major label, if he really had a case, his lawyer should have handled it. Also, if Drake is trending and “Cha Cha” is in those mentions, that’s more people that hear “Cha Cha,” which has a healthy 8M+ views on YouTube.

But ultimately if D.R.A.M. really feels a way about it, the best way to get back at Drake would be to drop more hits, instead of blasting out a low key jab by saying his song got “jacked.”

But hey, a man is entitled to his own opinion.

History has shown it’s better to align with Drake, than go against him, though. Peep D.R.A.M. tweet it out below and on the flip.
