While much of yesterday’s (Dec. 2) media attention was focussed on the shooting rampage in San Bernardino, Calif. another act of mass gun violence took place Savannah, Ga. A woman was killed and three men were injured during a shooting early Wednesday morning.
Victims Jamond Heyward, 17, Brandy Council, 34, Jarrett Myers, 40, and Jeran Washington, 52, were found when police arrived to the scene at around 1:30 a.m. Council later died from her injuries while the remaining three were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution reports.
Authorities believe two shooters were responsible, and have yet to identify a motive. No arrests have been made.
San Bernardino’s shooting gravely overshadowed the incident in Savannah. As pointed out by the Washington Post, a local news station covered the shooting in just three paragraphs.
