Safaree Samuels seems to be doing just fine after breaking up with Nicki Minaj. Despite that their past relationship continued to make headlines well after the two moved on with their respective lives (and careers), the songwriter/rapper is letting bygones be bygones.

In a sit-down with Billboard’s Adelle Platon, Safaree discussed his newest single “Can’t Lie” featuring Olaf. The track, which lives on his mixtape It Is What It Is, Vol. 2, is about falling for the one, a record Scaff says he penned from a friend’s perspective.

“It’s a real crazy situation,” he said. “The guy ended up having to go to jail and doing a whole bunch of years. That left her in a vulnerable open space and he’s been disconnected.”

When asked about his thoughts on the rumored engagement of his ex Nicki Minaj and Philly rapper Meek Mill, Safaree pledged his support. “From my side, it’s nothing but love,” he continued. “I’m the type of guy, whether you like it or not, I’m gonna still say “hi” to you. It’s on you to where you wanna take it. I don’t have an ill will bone in my body. It’s nothing but God bless and protect the love.”

So, does this mean he won’t be suing her anymore?
