A trip on New York’s MTA subway system isn’t complete without a performance from the Showtime car and pole dancers. However, it got a little prickly for one ride after a dancer punched him in the face for not paying the routine any attention.

DNAInfo reports:

Showtime came to an abrupt end on a northbound A train last week when one of the subway dancers punched a straphanger in the face because he wasn’t paying attention, according to police.

The 39-year-old victim was looking at his phone on the northbound A train between Nostrand Avenue and Hoyt-Schermerhorn around 4 p.m. on Jan. 4 when one of four dancers shouted, “Anyone who isn’t paying attention, suck my d—,” the NYPD said.

The man grabbed the victim’s phone and, as the two struggled, the man punched the victim in the face, police said.

The victim sustained a cut and swelling to his lip and cheek, according to police.

The suspect and three other men exited at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station. Police are looking for a man around 20 years of age but little information has been made publicly available.

Are the Showtime dancers ever this violent? Has anyone experienced this before? Sound off the comments.
