The release of the latest coveted Air Jordan Retro sneakers unfortunately brings out the foolhardy and the deadly ratchet. Two people were shot outside of a Foot Locker in Minnesota on Saturday (March 5), and the cause seems to the cutting of the line.

Reports CBS Minnesota:

Around the corner, shots were being fired in the Foot Locker parking lot. Multiple agencies–including the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office–quickly responded.

“There was some kind of shoe sale going on,” Brooklyn Center Commander Garett Flesland said.

A shoe sale involving the release of a new pair of Nike Air Jordans. A large crowd of people had shown up to get their hands on them.

“There was a little altercation over the shoes about someone in line. It was a lot of commotion. I don’t know who was shooting, but somebody started shooting like six times,” said Latoya Sims, Brooklyn Park.

Police marked more than a dozen casings on the ground following the shooting. Two people were injured.

“They were conscious and talking with the officers, paramedics. The word I have is non-life threatening at this point,” Flesland said.

The latest Jordan Retros released this past weekend were the Air Jordan 12 Retro in “Vivid Pink,” the Air Jordan 2 Retro “Wing It” and the Air Jordan 1 KO High in white and red.

We wouldn’t put this beef past being over the pink joints, which are only available in girls sizing. SMH.

They’re sneakers y’all. SNEAKERS.
