When Janet Jackson announced the Unbreakable World Tour last May, fans flocked for the superstar’s return to the stage. By January of this year, the jaunt was officially put on hold for reasons that Jackson never specified, until now.

On Twitter this morning, Jackson announced that she’s taking a break from touring in hopes of starting a family with husband, Wissam Al Mana.

“My husband and I are planning our family so I’m going to have to delay the tour,” she says in a video message. “Please if you can try and understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor’s orders.”

Al Mana, a 40-year-old billionaire from Qatar, and Jackson quietly married in 2012. The couple spends the brunt of their time overseas.

In the video announcement, Jackson goes on to thank fans for their support over the years and Live Nation, the company behind her tour. “I will finish the tour as soon as I possibly can,” she promises.

Twitter is already debating over Jackson’s decision to become a mom at age 49, whether or not she’s already pregnant, and defending her right to put family over work.
