Was it worth it? A Baltimore man was shot down by police after entering a television news station claiming to be wearing an outfit made of explosives. But they were really candy bars.

A Fox News affiliate in Baltimore found themselves being in the news today after a man walked into their building making bomb threats.

Witness say that the man entered the station dressed like a hedgehog and claimed that he had something he had to say.

WJZ reports:

A security guard with Fox 45 tells WJZ reporter George Solis that a man walked into the station wearing a hedgehog outfit and medical mask, claiming he had a bomb.

“He pretty much said he had a bomb on him and that he had a message that he needed to be heard,” said the security guard.

The security guard said the suspect had a flash drive containing files that had to do with astronomy.

“It pretty much had to do with any with astronomy–black holes, the sun, about it being liquid and gas, and he just wanted to say that the government was wrong in thinking about the way they do when it comes to anything in space,” said the guard.

The man reportedly entered the building around 1 p.m. and then exited the building at approximately 3 p.m. He walked out of the building with his hands in his pockets. Police, with their weapons draw, demanded that he show his hands. He man refused and police proceeded to shoot.

In a press conference after the ordeal, Baltimore Police spokesperson T.J. Smith revealed when police moved in to secure the suspected bomber after shooting, they found that the man didn’t even have any bombs. He was actually packing candy bars.

The suspect was whisked away in an ambulance and is currently recovering from his wounds. Story is still developing.

It has been a busy 24-hours for the Baltimore Police Department. Yesterday they shot a 14-year old carrying a BB gun after thinking that it was a real gun. All of this happens on the anniversary of the Freddie Gray riots.
