The Game just dropped the perfect track ahead of this Mother’s Day Weekend. The track, titled “Dear Mama,” is a timely release with the recent passing of Tupac “2Pac” Shakur‘s mother, Afeni Shakur.
Uproxx reports:
Mother’s Day isn’t too far away and The Game’s version of “Dear Mama” may be perfect song to put a lump in your throat while thinking of the one who gave birth to you. It’s a beautiful ode to not only his, but each and every mom around the world who’s ever had to deal with changing a diaper, chasing a kid around the house, or just putting up with the headaches that come from being a parent.
“See my mama sat me down when I was 12
She said that I was heaven why I always give her hell
No role models, daddy in and out of jail
Caught up in the system where they trap us black males
Sippin’ Henny as the world turn, close my eyes and see my mama face
And know she’d always keep me straight just like some braces”
Naturally, The Game dedicates the track to Shakur and borrows some of 2Pac’s stylings.
