Timbaland claims that he will be leaving his solo career on a high note, literally. The producer says his final album will be an opera.

The album, titled Opera Noir, is set to be Timbaland‘s fourth and final album.

He tells Rolling Stone:

“I have no features on it. It’s the most innovative work I’ve ever done. It’s all about truth and what’s going on around us. It’s about my personal truth: It’s one of the things that MediaTakeOut will care about, but I’m telling you what happened. And just how I look, dropping all my weight, and how I look like a whole different person now, you’re gonna really understand. It’s about truth and what the world is facing, and we don’t even realize.”

Timbaland is currently the musical supervisor of FOX’s hit television drama Empire. So, we should probably expect for Timbaland to take a lot of what he’s learned there and apply it to this album.

According to a press release from Leftfield Pictures, Opera Noir “will follow a young musician’s rise to the top and hardships along the way–including struggles with poverty, substance abuse and crime.”

The album will be Timbaland’s first since 2009’s Shock Value II that featured “Say Something” with Drake.
