Marvel’s Black Panther movie is about two years away but it’s already looking epic. Michael B. Jordan is the latest Black actor of note to join the cast.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jordan has signed on to the film, but there is no word on who exactly he will be playing. By signing on Jordan he re-teamed with Creed director Ryan Coogler, who will be directing Black Panther.

Recently, it was revealed that Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o is also in talks to join the cast. She is to play the love interest of T’Challa aka Black Panther, who is portrayed by Chadwick Boseman.

Boseman’s performance as Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War has been critically acclaimed. Expectations for the character’s standalone film are growing, as the #BlackPantherSOLIT hashtage can attest.

Black Panther is due in theaters February. 16, 2018. Marvel, you need to move that date up, stat.

Jordan is a great actor, so we won’t hold the travesty that was Fox’s Fantastic Four against him.
