Another twist in the Lil Wayne vs. Birdman saga. TMZ is reporting that Weezy has cut off all settlement talks with his former label and that his $51 million lawsuit against them is still on.
Per TMZ:
Now we know why Lil Wayne started a “F*** Cash Money” chant at his last concert — all talks of settling his $51 million lawsuit are off, and Wayne’s laying blame directly at Birdman’s feet.
Sources connected to the label tell TMZ … settlement talks broke off within the last month. As we first reported, Weezy and Birdman started trying to patch things up back in January. You’ll recall, Birdman even vowed he had Wayne’s back to the death.
The centerpiece of the talks was the Cash Money honcho finally agreeing to release “Tha Carter V.” We’re told that is Wayne’s first priority and he thought Birdman was on board too, but when nothing changed on that front … Wayne pulled the plug on any possible settlement.
Can’t say that this is too surprising. Especially considering that Birdman himself has admitted that he feels contracts aren’t meant to be honored, but made to be negotiated.
Lil Wayne slyly alluded to the peace talks coming to a halt when he snapped a flick with both of Birdman’s adversaries, Rick Ross and Trick Daddy, at a Beyonce Formation tour concert in April.

In March, Lil Wayne filed a separate lawsuit against Universal Records alleging that he has not been paid royalties over record sales from Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga. He is hoping to collect $40 million from the lawsuit.
In other Weezy news, the rapper recently revealed that he will be staring in his own VH1 reality show, Lil Wayne’s House. No air date has been set.
