This may not have been deliberate shade from Kevin Hart but if it is, call it shade from the biggest palm tree in LA County. One of the first things people tend to do when they get on in Hollywood is throw rocks and hide their hands—especially when a check is involved.

Everybody’s favorite comedian mogul has rubbed the rap duo Run the Jewels, the wrong way. Yes, there are hundreds of thousands of bands in the mix. And presumably, some high-powered lawyers in a bit. Ain’t nothing funny about this one.

According to Vulture, the group was heated when they’d heard the news about Hart signing on the produce a film titled Run the Jewels. The Hollywood Reporter announced that the movie is to be about “a group of failed rappers who attempt to rob an eccentric hip-hop mogul.”

While Killer Mike has remained silent on the issue, El-P hit Twitter to express his feelings on Kevin Hart’s faux pas.

“excuse me while I go starve a savage pack of lawyers for 7 days.” When someone asked what the possible reasoning was being the group not being asked permission, El answered. “prolly lost or number. its cool we’ll be calling them.”

One follower pulled up a tweet from 2013 where El-P typed, “4 words: RUN THE JEWELS MOVIE,” El-P answered, “yes I meant for us.”

How you gon’ play this off without insulting both Killer Mike and El-P, who’ve grinded really hard to make the name recognizable in the first place, Kev? Damn.
